Nobody cares about any single piddly congregation with its $1000 checking account and $800 monthly expenses.

Actually, when I was involved, I was surprised at how feverishly the CO cared about the congregation accounts and auditing. It wasn't just that the receipt totals needed to match the deposits, but that the deposits had to be made right away after each meeting, no matter how small the amount of money collected or the inconvenience about finding a way to get that last deposit in before the month ended. Most of these accounts servants were rather downtrodden MSs with crappy jobs working long hours, so their wives were helping... but had to find some young, snot-nosed, newly baptized kid to sign the receipts because women didn't qualify to sign things in those congregations.

So there's transparency at the congregation level. There is much less transparency at the circuit level. And believe me, I've been in circuits where the CO has dipped into circuit funds like they were his personal piggybank. Above that? The money disappears into a black hole.

... but 2017? What the hell is wrong that they can't find a date sooner in 2015 or 2016? I think they're getting lazy if they can't keep things fresh every 6 months or so.

my mom called me yesterday to ask how i was doing.

i hadn't seen her in a while, so it was nice to hear her voice.

we went through the motions of jw small talk and then she started telling me about her co visit from last week.

The wicked world altering JW way of worship? I'm thinking more brothers will be wearing tight pants to the Kingdumb Haul... very soon now.

If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed ...

matthew 17:20 - he said to them, because of your little faith.

for truly, i say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.. i get the 'message' - if you believe enough (in fact, even a tiny amount - a mustard seed being tiny) then nothing is impossible but really, what a ridiculous statement and idea for several reasons.. there are lots of people who believe things completely and sincerely even to the point of death.

so far i've not noticed any sudden movements of any mountain ranges.

Simon, you're looking at the WRONG gospel! Notice what Luke records...

Luke 17:5 Now the apostles said to the Lord:* “Give us more faith.”+ 6 Then the Lord said: “If YOU had faith the size of a mustard grain, YOU would say to this black mulberry tree,* ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea!’ and it would obey YOU.

There are a couple of points that we can glean from Luke that was unclear in Matthew:

The point Jesus was trying to make wasn't that people needed more faith... they needed LESS faith! All these people that say they have LOTS of faith are going in the wrong direction. Jesus said to downsize to faith that is so small as to be unnoticeable. I'd say I've gone a step better and have faith the size of a severely undersized mustard seed.
Moving a mountain? I mean, why? However, for those of us that have lived around mulberry trees and birds, we've found what a mess bird crap is when they've been eating loads of mulberries! Oh the mess on my car! If only these mulberry trees were uprooted and planted in the sea! Now we have a clear example of who has the advantage: The guy with loads of faith that has been praying for the trees to move... or the guy with very little faith in god, but substantially more faith in a chainsaw?

i have noticed something even long before even looking into ttatt, something about morris bothered me.

i am personally very attuned to body language, facial expressions and general subtleties in human interaction.

there was something about his face that really bothered me, and i will explain it.
